MOMENTS
UncategorizedAll Smiles
Yep…all smiles in this family. We had such a great time at the Pumpkin Festival. Filled with 4D movies, high ropes courses, low ropes courses, a glow in the dark dance party, and hide and seek amongst the boulders. I even was an amazing mom today and packed a picnic dinner.
What you don’t see are all of the meltdowns and arguments throughout the entire day. Yeah…that sweet face in the middle…he had an all out screaming fit breakdown in the middle of this huge festival. I had to walk away so I would not completely melt down. I had to walk away just far enough so I could see him so I could just breathe. During that time, a very nice mother approached him to see if he was lost. When I approached them, I reassured her I was his mom. Lucky for me, she totally understood and could relate, as she pointed to her little red headed smiling boy. I am so grateful for her kindness, as I have had several dirty looks from mothers that don’t quite understand.
What you don’t see in this picture are all of my dirty looks and quiet yelling while the kids proceed to pick on each other and flick each other in the head.
What you don’t see are my threats to take everyone home early if they were going to “keep it up”.
There are several lessons I was reminded of during our fun outing today:
- My breath is my friend. I had so many deep breaths today just so I could respond without losing my s*** on my kids.
- Life is made up of moments. Take in each of them. Anger comes and goes. Joy comes and goes. The moments will never happen exactly the same again. Cherish each of them.
- NEVER compare your life to the social posts or pictures of others. In these posts, you just happen to be seeing them at one of their “better” moments.
With Love,
LJ
