Foundation
UncategorizedMoving ahead on the blueprint of my life, I have been reflecting on my values. In the past, I have only paid attention to my values when I become defensive or angry because they are being challenged. More recently, I have been very intentional with integrating them into my daily life. In this practice, I have also had the opportunity to identify where they came from, how I lean on them, and how they show up daily. I look at my upbringing. I reflect on the main players and influencers. For most people, these individuals include their immediate and extended family and I am no different. I have found determination and adventure in my mother. I have found laughter and love of life in my father. I have found connection and profound reflection in my brothers. I have found loyalty and compassion in my sisters. With all of these components creating my foundation, I have been able to move through life with fierce independence, determination, compassion, laughter, and courage. I am eternally grateful for the abundance in my life because of these amazing people.
If you are totally stoked about reflecting on your values, check out the following questions:
- What is your best (and worst…yes, it is important to go there too…) childhood memory?
- What is your most memorable family event?
- What is the single most important thing you learned as a child?
- What do you admire most about your parents/caregivers and why?
- Who in your family do you view as a role model and why?
- What inspires you?
Today is a wonderful day for reflection. And work in some gratitude today too…so important in daily life:)
Much love, LJ
